Lextox offers hair testing for drugs and alcohol, blood alcohol testing, SCRAM Continuous Alcohol Monitoring and DNA relationship testing. Is this test for you?: A grandparent DNA test can determine whether a child is biologically related to the alleged grandparents. A grandparentage test is based on the fact that a child inherits half of his or her genetic profile from each biological parent. When one of a child’s parents is unavailable for testing, we can look to the grandparents to determine whether they contributed DNA to the child’s genetic profile works by comparing the DNA profile of a child with the profiles of their mother and alleged father. If the mother is unavailable for testing, we can usually perform a motherless paternity test.

Is this test for you?: Our prenatal DNA test is an accurate and non-invasive way to determine paternity prior to a child’s birth and means that care plans can be put in place ahead of the birth. A mouth swab is required from the alleged father and a blood sample from the biological mother’s arm. After profiling the mother and foetus, we are able to compare the markers against the alleged father’s DNA. The mother must be at least eight weeks pregnant as per confirmation from a medical professional and testing is unable to be undertaken on multiple pregnancies (i.e. twins and triplets).

Is this test for you?: Zygosity testing can be used to determine whether multiple children, such as twins, triplets and so on are genetically identical or not. Identical siblings are known as monozygotic. This means that they were formed from a single fertilised egg, which went on to split into separate embryos and that their DNA is exactly the same. Non-identical siblings are known as dizygotic. This means that they are the result of separate fertilised eggs and that they share half of their genes in common like other siblings.
